Bethany Blues – Let’s Do Trivia – 07/20/23

THE RECAP

Xenophobia, Dan Quayle's Potatoe, and why are there no peanuts in the Deluxe Mixed Nuts were just of few of the interesting things we discussed tonight playing Let's Do Trivia at Bethany Blues in Lewes.

 

As usual, everybody was all bunched up with one another after the half time bonus question. The Flamin' Hams and Dr Zoom were tied for first. Off Center, Smarty Pints, and Swamp Donkeys were tied for second. And Murphy's Law and Team Pivot were tied for third. The second half of the game was rough on everybody. But Dr Zoom was in the lead going into the final question with Smarty Pints one point behind in second, and The Flamin' Hams and Swamp Donkeys tied for third but only one point behind second place.

 

Only one team got the final question right, with Mebos correctly sorting some Eddie Murphy movies and jumping from 12 place to first! Murphy's Law was the only team that didn't go all in on their wager, allowing them to finish second (after winning a tie-breaker with Dr Zoom, who settled for third).

 

THE SUPER SECRET ART BONUS for July 27th    

Tuesday is National Hot Fudge Sundae Day. So for this week's super secret art bonus (and 3 points), on Round 2 Question 1, draw how you prefer your ice cream…cup or cone. Extra point if you add color. (I will accept hand drawn pics for the art bonus, bring them up during or before Round 2 Question 1).

Bethany Blues: An excellent crowd filled with some familiar faces showed up to join this week's game. Just Cheers & Off Center both scored OTB extra points for their responses. The game didn't play into anyone's particular strengths, so it was a tight match over the early rounds. *draw a picture of a parking meter on the Round 2/Question 1 response (5/22/25) to score bonus points* At Halftime, Just Cheers held a narrow lead over a tie between Off Center and Underage Thinkers, then another tie between Bethany Blues and Big Cookie. Bethany Blues - Let's Do Trivia Blurb - 6/19/25

Bethany Blues: We had a packed house with nearly 20 teams (whew!) join in the fun this week. Off Center, Sextupuss and New Neighbors all scored OTB extra points for their responses. It was a close match due to a surprisingly low-scoring game. Everyone was struggling. *draw a picture of Sunny the Smilin' Sun on the Round 2/Question 1 response (6/26/25) to score bonus points* At Halftime, New Neighbors held a narrow lead over a tie between Bad Girls and Sextupuss, followed by another tie between Master Naturalists and D-town, who were followed by yet a 3-way tie. The top eight teams covered by just 3 points. The second half really shook up the running order, favoring a few teams, challenging others. Going into the Final Bonus, Dr. Zoom was just ahead of D-town, Sextupuss, Houston-We Have An Answer, then a tie between New Neighbors and Master Naturalists. The Blurb is Back, Baby! Bethany Blues: We had a fantastic turnout with a baker's dozen of teams joining this week's game. Tom Brady French Kisses His Son snagged the OTB extra point and ran at the front for much of the early rounds, but then tripped late in the half allowing a couple other teams past. *draw a new moon in the night sky on the Round 2/Question 1 response for bonus points*. At Halftime, The Animals held the top spot over Fab Five, Underage Thinkers, Dr. Zoom, then a tie between Off Center and Prime Hookers. The Animals maintained their momentum throughout the second half, holding off the advances of Tom Brady French Kisses His Son and Dr. Zoom.
