Bethany Blues - Let's Do Trivia Blurb - 5/1/25

Thanks for putting up with a substitute while your main-man Eric is away. To those who remember me as the original Let's Do Trivia! Host at Bethany Blues, dang, you're old! Our first game was 5 days before my birthday, in 2009!

This means, we've been holding trivia court at Bethany Blues for coming up on 16 years! We'll be old enough to drive! A dozen eggs was $1.29! Our facebook photos for Blues dates back to March, 2010! Recognize anyone? The first sets of photos were taken using a film camera with the roll developed and printed to include a digital copy on CD Rom! 

HAPPY CINCO de MAYO!

There may be some Mexican-related trivia, but since most Americans know nothing about the victory in battle celebrated in Mexico this day each year, any Cinco questions will involve people, cartoons, music, and alcohol, an American tradition (and a typical Friday night at my house.)

A reminder, the APP Drawing Board will be fully functional for Round 2, Question 1. So, for 3-points, draw a sombrero (or a reasonable facsimile).

With 13 teams along for the ride, we met the halftime with a mere 7 points separating last from first place! What an awesome group of teams! On top of the hill sat a three-way tie for 1st Place between Off Center, Titanic Swim Team, & Dr. Zoom! 

While the points-gap widened as we entered the final question, every team was still within reach of a 1st Place, INFLATED $50 Prize VICTORY! Yay for y'all! Animals had jumped to the head of the class with Off Center breathing down their necks 1 point back, and Dr. Zoom so close you could smell what they had for dinner! (Bourbon?)

With half the teams wagering safely and the other half chanting, "go big or go home," the final answer was in position to produce an upset victory! 

2 teams had the order correct, both of whom went all-in on the wager. This catapulted Tucker and Cody from LAST PLACE to 4th Place (and a $10 Prize from John) and kept Animals not only in the lead, but unbeatable for the $50 Prize and the trophy for the week! ... Off Center nabbed 2nd and Dr Zoom took 3rd.

Bethany Blues: An excellent crowd filled with some familiar faces showed up to join this week's game. Just Cheers & Off Center both scored OTB extra points for their responses. The game didn't play into anyone's particular strengths, so it was a tight match over the early rounds. *draw a picture of a parking meter on the Round 2/Question 1 response (5/22/25) to score bonus points* At Halftime, Just Cheers held a narrow lead over a tie between Off Center and Underage Thinkers, then another tie between Bethany Blues and Big Cookie. Off Center came out of the half with a head of steam to take over the lead and ran at the front until being pipped by Zoom Mini as we entered the Final Bonus. The lead duo were followed by Titanic Swim Team, Just Cheers and Big Cookie. Only a single team correctly answered the Final Bonus. Blurb For Game played on 10-30-2025

It was great being back at Bethany Blues for Let's Do Trivia last Thursday for ERIC THE GREAT!!! People are always fun and friendly. It's even good to see Adele!  It was a big crowd last week with lots of energy and competition. Teslas4Putin started off with a great On Time Bonus Question answer. However, by the time we got thru Halftime, Confederacy Of Dunces lead the pack. After Halftime, Teslas4Putin got to work at it again, and, lead the field as we went into Final Bonus. But, with a big wager and the correct answer, Off Center pulled off the win for the 1st place prize. Threes Company took 2nd place, and, Teslas4Putin took the 3rd place prize. The Nacho Prize (cuz this was "Not Cho Game") was scooped up by JS. Bethany Blues - Let's Do Trivia Blurb - 10/9/25

Bethany Blues: We had a great crowd filled with a few newcomers for our game this week. Off Center, Aquadummies and Low Expectations all scored OTB extra points for their responses. It was an incredibly low-scoring game throughout the early rounds, and only three correct responses for the Halftime Bonus across the entire field. Yeah, this was a tough one… *draw a picture of Betelgeuse on the Round 2/Question 1 response (10/16/25) to score bonus points* At the halfway mark, Low Expectations and Dr. Zoom shared the top spot over Nobody Cares About Ian, Parents Night Out, then a tie between Off Center and Underage Thinkers. Dr. Zoom posted a flawless second half to take over at the front while the rest of the field jockeyed for position. They were trailed by Low Expectations, Nobody Cares About Ian, then a 3-way tie between Off Center, Underage Thinkers and Parents Night Out as we headed into the Final Bonus.
